We can help you to improve your school's careers provision and prepare your students for their futures.

We know there is great work happening to inspire and support young people, and we want to help schools and colleges build on this.

The government’s Careers Strategy, published in December 2017, brings with it a range of new requirements for schools to deliver quality careers support for young people. We are here to support you every step of the way.

Support with the government's Careers Strategy

The government's Careers Strategy presents new challenges for schools and colleges, and is built around the Gatsby Benchmarks framework. We will play a key role in implementing the strategy and we can support your school or college with meeting the requirements of the statutory guidance.

Careers Leaders support

We have identified a number of training providers who will deliver face-to-face training for Careers Leaders. Over 500 schools and colleges have already applied for these bursaries. Careers Leaders can still register their interest for the training.

Our online training for Careers Leaders will also be available from late 2018.

Become part of our national network

To connect young people with the world of work, we have created a nationwide network of schools, colleges, businesses and careers activity programmes. Being part of our network is completely free and has a range of benefits for your school in relation to meeting the new statutory guidance requirements.

Your school will be matched with a dedicated business volunteer, who we call an Enterprise Adviser. They will help you to move your plan forward by using their connections in the local business community to meet all 8 Gatsby Benchmarks by 2020.

Evaluate your activity with Compass

We produced the free Compass tool in partnership with the Gatsby Charitable Foundation. Compass helps you to evaluate your careers activity quickly and easily to identify your school or college's strengths and areas for improvement. Compass has been improved for the 2018/19 academic year. Compass is now available for colleges.
